Third East Asian Law and Society Conference

Shanghai, China (March 22-23, 2013)

The Meridian 180 Core Idea Group held a meeting with Chinese Meridian 180 members during the Third East Asian Law and Society Conference, March 22-23,  at the KoGuan Law School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai. At the conference, Annelise Riles chaired a panel entitled “From Translation to Collaboration: What is Meridian and what have we done to date?” The discussants were Meridian 180 Senior Fellows Professors Cynthia Bowman (Cornell Law School), Ko Hasegawa (Hokkaido University), Fleur Johns (University of New South Wales), Xingzhong Yu (Cornell Law SChool) and Yuji Genda (University of Tokyo). Professor Yu also chaired an inter-disciplinary panel called “Author Meets Reader—Collateral Knowledge: Legal Reasoning in the Global Financial Markets [by Annelise Riles] (Chinese Edition, 2013).”
